The Commander of Libyan National Army’s Western Region Major General Abdussalam Al-Hassi confirmed that the armed forces still keep on progressing within the capital Tripoli.
Abdussalam Al-Hassi said in an interview to Ashark Al-Awsat outlet that the Libyan National Army (LNA) is advancing quietly, trying to spare the residents of Tripoli the consequences of fighting.
“Our troops are holding up and continue to fight a mix of armed militias and terrorist elements,” he added, highlighting that “military reinforcements arrived yesterday in framework of the plan prepared by the Army’s General Command called “Al-Fath Al-Mubin”.
He also stated that the LNA began neutralizing the air force of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord and getting it out of the ongoing fighting.
