The National Oil Organization (NOC) has demanded the Southern Libya tribes to release the two workers of El-Sharara oil field, one Libyan and one Romanian, who were kidnapped last Saturday.
“We ask the local citizens of Ubari area in particular and the southern areas in genetal, as well as our brothers from Tabu and Tuareg who share the land and religion with us, to turn to reason and release the two kidnapped workers as soon as possible,” Head of the NOC Mustafa Sanallah said during his appearance in Tripoli.
At the same time, Sanallah has declared that the organization “will not pay a single dirham or a single dinar” to those who try to provoke the organization of kidnap its workers.
Four El-Sharara worked have been kidnapped by unknown attackers on Saturday, June 14th. Two of the abducted have been released soon after the incident, while the fate of the remaining two remains unknown.
El-Sharara is considered to be one of Libya’s main export grades and feeds the important Zawiya oil refinery.
